What About Socialization?
Homeschoolers find social interaction in a variety of settings— with family, neighbors, parishes, clubs, community activities, and homeschooling support groups.
Can You Homeschool in High School?
Yes. Through your local homeschool network, you can find assistance with areas which you might find difficult lab science, foreign language, advanced math, etc.
Do Homeschooled Children Go to College?
Yes, they do. Most colleges do not require a high school diploma. Good SAT scores, (with testing available at your public high school), and a portfolio of the childís high school work will generally suffice. Or, you may use a curriculum provider to obtain a diploma.
Can Homeschooled Children Participate in Sports at the Public School?
Generally, no. The thing keeping homeschoolers from public school teams
isn't the districts per se, but the New Jersey State Interscholastic
Athletic Association (NJSIAA). If schools don't adhere to the NJSIAA bylaws,
which prohibit unenrolled students from competing, their sports programs
could lose eligibility for league and tournament play.
